The soap-making classes are one of the many initiatives launched by “Egna Legna”.
The project aims at empowering women with useful skills that will enable them to be self-supporting on return home.
Additionally, the classes are an occasion for the women to meet, discuss, share their experiences and bond in a safe space.
An Ethiopian trainer comes to the center every week to teach migrant domestic workers of all nationalities. Together, they create hand-made soap from scratch, in different shapes, sizes and smells. The final product is then distributed inside the aid packages collected by the women in need of food and basic necessities.
